Sea-Tac Cell Phone Lot Closes
Effective Tuesday, June 9th, Sea-Tac’s handy Cell Phone lot will be closing, albeit only temporarily, as it moves to a new and much larger location. The new location, just north of the current one on Air Cargo Road, will accommodate nearly double the amount of cars as the current one, and ex expected to open in early July.
The Cell Phone Waiting Lot allows drivers picking up arriving passengers to wait up to 30 minutes in the lot. Drivers are required to stay with their vehicles, but it provides a handy way to wait for that cell phone call saying that passengers have collected their bags and are waiting outside of Baggage Claim.
What should you do while this is closed?
Unfortunately, you’ll need to use the Hourly Parking lot at the Terminal Main Garage. Parking charges are $2 for the first 30 minutes. It’s only for a little over a month, so get your travelers to pony up the $2 – it’s cheaper than any alternative.
Remember, there is no parking or waiting allowed on the airport roadway shoulders at any time. And no parking or waiting in the drive through at the airport. With summer travel about to kick into high gear, these restrictions will be strictly enforced.
