Weekend Events That Won’t Break Your Bank

It’s time to start planning for the weekend, and the many food and wine events tend to draw me in. Here’s a  weekend’s worth of good eats and treats:

  • Wednesday, June 3rd: OK, so I may be organizing this one, but doesn’t it sound fabuolous? Stop by Spoto’s in Palm Beach Gardens from 5:30 – 7:30 to take part in Dine Magazine’s Happy Hour Event. While you are there enjoy a glass of wine and savor some gourmet delights – Applewood Smoked Bacon Wrapped Scallops, Pretzel Crusted Group Fingers and more. Cost: $10
  • Thursday, June 4th: It’s Taste of the West & Chocolate Lover’s Festival in Wellington at the Americraft Expo Center. This annual food tasting and business expo revolves around food and more importantly, chocolate. Chefs from the local restaurants and country clubs will be on board to give you a taste of their cuisine. Pair this up with live music, happy people and cooking and pie eating competitions and you will be all set. Who will receive the trophy this year for the “Best Chocolate Dessert?” Time: 4:30 – 8:30, Cost: $10
  • Friday, June 5th: It’s time for a Brooklyn Brewery Beer Appreciation Class at Whole Foods in Boca Raton. Guests will become familiar with this popular brewery, once only available in Brooklyn. Guests will enjoy a selection of beer and finger foods for this special tasting. Pre-register at 561.447.0000, Time: 6:30 – 8:00 pm, Cost: $10
  • On Saturday, June 6th, it’s off to JoAnna’s Marketplace in Pinecrest for a Sunbox Eleven Winery wine tasting. Enjoy free tastings of the Maverick 2007 and the Nice 2007 paired with complimentary hors d’oeuvres at this family-run gourmet market. Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Cost: Free
