Washington DC’s National Harbor Food & Wine Festival

National Harbor is turning into a major site for events and music and over the June 6-7 weekend, join in the culinary fun of the second annual National Harbor Food and Wine Festival.

Besides culinary demonstrations, wine and beer tastings, see three of Bravo’s popular chefs from the television cooking competition series Top Chef. Attending will be Ariane Duarte, local chef Carla  Hall and the always fun Spike Mendelsohn.  Joining them at the food and wine festival will be chefs, food critics, wine aficionados, local restaurants, cookbook authors and all types of food and wine purveyors.

Grab a waterfront seat and enjoy a cool beer at the Belgian Beer Café and watch the ferries and pleasure boats cruise the Potomac.

And if you’re looking for something to entertain the children, attend on of the kid-targeted demonstrations to teach children to get into cooking and consume healthy food.

For something a bit more fun, hop aboard one the 40-minute Potomac River Pirate Cruise with music and children’s stories about pirates and piracy on the historic Potomac River and Alexandria’s historic seaport.

Special overnight packages at Gaylord National Hotel are also available, and include two tickets to the festival and accommodations for $299.

Lisa at The Luxurty Travel Guide has all the package details.
