The Stars Come Out at Select Disney Resorts

A nighttime event that has been popular at Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground for some time now, has spread to other Disney Resort hotels. At The Polynesian Resort and Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, guests are now invited to join around a Mickey-shaped campfire, on the shore of Seven Seas Lagoon, and sing favorite camp tunes while they watch the “stars” come out. Guests who attend the Campfire and Sing-Along at Ft. Wilderness will also enjoy a visit from Chip ‘n Dale.

But the evening of fun does not have to stop there as more than the stars in the sky will pop out — watch  your favorite Disney stars pop onto an outdoor movie screen as a family friendly Disney film is shown nightly.

I spoke with a cast member at the front desk of The Polynesian, who confirmed that all Walt Disney World guests may attend these nightly gatherings free of charge. S’mores kits and marshmallows are available for purchase for those guests wishing to roast marshmallows.

As a mother, I have found that I can have the most elaborate plans mapped out, and yet it is those simple things that really make the trip. This sounds like an ideal way to end an awesome day in the parks and a great way to make some lasting memories.  What a perfect way to unwind and yet still have great fun. Marshmallow, anyone?

Camp Fires are the best. I wonder how they made the campfires look like Mickey. Did they shape the firewood like him?
