With this in mind they have declared the month of May as Africa encouraging Africans based all over the world to celebrate the uniqueness Africa with all its myths, mysteries, wonders and natural treasures.

Throughout the month of May events will be hosted celebrating the various African heritages but the also will be used as platforms to create awareness of the aims such as removing the inequalities between men women and children with in African societies.

Towards the end of May the celebrations will culminate in a Symposium and Cultural event, which will take place at the National Cultural Museum in the capital of South Africa, Pretoria. Various African Broadcasters are broadcasting wide range of programmes highlighting Africa’s Plight but at the same time celebrating the continent’s achievements and milestones.

There are many things in Africa we can be grateful for especially here in South Africa such as the fact that we are celebrating out 4th democratic elections and that we are working on repairing the wounds of the past. As South African’s we so much to be thankful for but also so much more work we need to do as there is a clear divide between the haves and the have nots.
