Las Vegas Seniors and Families Step out in May
The City of Las Vegas offers activities for seniors through toddlers including a children’s play, tea parties, skate parties, free games and concerts.
“Ferdinand The Bull”
Reed Whipple Cultural Center
“Ferdinand the Bull” is an exuberant romp about being yourself and refusing to be bullied into acting like someone you are not. Children and adults will love the clever wordplay and comical characters of this hour-long play.
10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, at Reed Whipple Cultural Center. Tickets are priced at $3 and may be purchased at the center, located at 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North. The drama is acted by Childsplay, an award-winning professional theatre company for young audiences and families. Based in Tempe, Ariz., since 1977, Childsplay has earned a national reputation. Enjoy chamber music by harpist Kim De Libero, cellist Naldo Posella and violinist Laraine Kaizer-Viazovtsev. They will perform works by Elgar, Respighi and Ibert, early 20th-century composers who have an impressionistic flavor. This music has a wide range of color and emotion, lush harmonies, rich textures and surprises at every turn.

11th Annual Tee It Up Classic National Golf Tournament (ages 21+)
Sunday and Monday, May 17-18
Fee: $100 per player; free for spectators

The Tee It Up Classic is one of the few national golf events that host a fully inclusive field of players. More than one third of the participants in this tournament have been individuals with physical disabilities. Single-rider golf carts available. Sunday afternoon’s match will be a two-person best-ball format, followed by a two-person scramble on Monday morning. Lunch and the accompanying awards ceremony will follow Monday’s play.
