Hot Club – The Lisbon Jazz Club
Hot Club is a Lisbon icon when it comes to clubbing. This is an underground room dedicated to jazz music. The small and cosy atmosphere makes it the ideal place for a jazz session. Hot Club is also one of the oldest jazz clubs in the world, celebrating this year its 61st anniversary.
At Praça da Alegria, quite near Av. da Liberdade, the entrance is lighted by an old weak lamp. Inside, concerts are held at 23h and at 00h30, in a tiny cosy room with a bar. Don’t get scared, you have a back garden for summer nights, where you can go for fresh air.
This is also a jazz school during daytime. Here, many are the great musicians that have played. The music is always top quality. Concerts are always at Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Tuesdays and Wednesdays they have Jam Sessions.
