You’ll be welcomed right at the big, thick door of this 1910 colonial-revival former residence, taken to the big and bright kitchen that also serves as the reception area, and presented with two keys–one for your room, one for the house.

Freshly baked cookies await in individually decorated rooms that have king or queen beds with piles of big, fluffy pillows and what are possibly the most comfortable pillowtop mattresses on the planet. And a teddy bear tops each bed! A very cuddly teddy bear that is available for overnight snuggling or–in case you get too attached–adoption for a fee. Rooms may have peeks at the ocean, panoramas of the landscaped hills, private balconies, or fireplaces.

Afternoon tea, wine, and hors d’oeuvres are included in rates as is the wonderful signature breakfast that includes a selection of breakfast breads, fresh fruit, and homemade main dishes such as “heavenly eggs.” Take a seat in a cozy dining nook, on an outdoor garden patio, in the meticulously crafted parlor, or the book-filled library. All areas of the inn are bright and inviting, with plenty of outdoor spaces with white wicker chairs and rockers.
