The Hunt for Easter Eggs

Easter egg hunts are just plain fun, and tasty (especially if the eggs are chocolate or filled with candies). Okay, it’s even great to seek out painted eggs of the hard-boiled variety (sort of). Anyway if you haven’t been invited to a private event, there’s still time to join one of the open-to-the-public hunts. Bring a basket or a bag, just in case.

In Irvine, Mariners Church is presenting free egg hunts for children up to 10 years of age at 3 PM and 7 PM. And between 2 PM and 8 PM there will be crafts, face painting, and other activities.

Big Bunny’s Spring Fling at the L.A. Zoo doesn’t feature an egg hunt but live bunnies will be available for petting in a large egg patch. Visitors can also make their own bunny ears to wear, have their faces painted like Big Bunny (sorry, not sure what he looks like!), and sing, dance, and attend a puppet show. The Spring Fling event (April 10-12, 10 AM-4 PM) is included with zoo admission.
