It Takes You to Tango
Winchester Cultural Center does it again when it brings in world class violinist Oscar Carrescia to celebrate The Fire of Tango; a World Vibration Concert.
The concert recreates the Argentinean tango scene with Trio Buenos Aires (Leah Woods, violin; Elena Kapustina, cello; Michelle Lee, piano), the great bandoneon player Coco Trivisonne; singer Sergio Eduardo, accompanied by Octeto Boedo; and dancers Alison and Gabriel.
Carrescia is the recipient of the Governor’s Arts Award, founder and director of the Youth Camerata Orchestra and a graduate of the Buenos Aires Conservatory of Music, where he studied composition and conducting with Maestro Theodore Fuchs. While attending the conservatory he became concertmaster of the national Radio Station Youth Symphony Orchestra. Since 1986, Carrescia has performed regularly at Winchester Cultural Center. Concert-goers are advised to buy tickets early; this group’s last Winchester show sold out, and many were turned away.
