What makes destinations unique?
What is it about certain destinations that tend to call you back year after year, or makes you choose new destinations over others?
For some, it’s the attractions or aesthetics of the area. For others, it’s because they’ve been visiting said destination for years or they’ve always wanted to go to a certain destination.
Then there’s those who say it’s the area’s food that calls out to them. And if that was your answer, you aren’t alone.
In fact, Florida’s Gulf Islands (Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key, Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch) proudly highlights their culinary offerings with TimeToBeaFoodie.com.
“The restaurants here are very unique and visitors can experience the destination through fun, funky places, or ZAGAT-rated restaurants,” says Jessica Grace, marketing and public relations director with Bradenton Area CVB.
For instance, you can enjoy a hamburger at a dive bar for lunch and end the day dining beachfront. Have a craving for ribs with a “kick”? Head to Mr. Bones. Want an incredible only-in-Florida view while eating? One place you’ll find it, as well as good food, is at Beach Bistro. The possibilities are endless.
And it doesn’t end with dining. Agritourism is big in the area as well. You can volunteer to work at Geraldson Community Farms, tour Dakin Dairy Farms or Fiorelli Winery.
TimeToBeaFoodie.com also have current information on cooking classes, events and demonstrations as well.
The site “captures the entire essences of what a foodie can have when visiting the area,” says Grace. “It’s not only about eating food, but the experiences with food as well.”
