Edinburgh’s Artist Rooms – Another Great Art Exhibition
It seems like every month there is another great arts exhibition going in the city somewhere. This month is no different, with the Artist Rooms display at the National Galleries. The four artists on display are Vija Celmins, Ellen Gallagher, Damien Hirst, Alex Katz, Andy Warhol and Francesca Woodman. I’m always impressed with the Andy Warhol collection at the Edinburgh National Galleries – it is one of the best and most comprehensive in all of Europe, including some quite unusual works and rare treats that are only on display in special exhibitions.
Oh, wait, did I mention it is FREE? Exhibitions here are typically not free (and to be honest, sometimes quite expensive), so this is a must see treat. I really love the quirky and unusual feel of Damien Hurt’s pieces, and the other artists contrast and blend into such a wonderful and well organised collection.
