Battle of the Spuds: Gonzaga vs. North Carolina
With the University of Washington out of the NCAA tourney, local fan support now backs our neighbors on the eastern side of the state – Gonzaga.
Tonight the Zags meet the North Carolina Tar heels, with Governors of the respective states having a friendly little wager on the outcome of the game. Should North Caroline win, Governor Gregoire will send Washington potatoes to a food bank in that state. Should Gonzaga win, Governor Perdue will send some North Carolina sweet potatoes to Northwest Harvest.
You can watch the game on KIRO Channel 7 tonight. Start time is estimated to be 7 pm.
That means you can think of tonight’s match up as the Battle of the Spuds! While someone will have to win on the court tonight, everyone wins with this wager to benefit the hungry.
