Valentine’s Day in Munich: The Little Things

The big V-day of all relationships is a mere week away. Valentine’s Day has become more and more popular in Germany over the past few years, thus Munich will be blooming with love all up to the 14th of this month. If you want to spoil that loved one whom you’ve been gazing at over your morning coffee, you don’t have to spend the big €€ to make the day special. Here are a few places that I would suggest to make that day extra special, no matter what the budget.

Flowers: Gentlemen! The way to any woman’s heart is through flowers. Tulips, Roses, Gerber daisies, Daffodils-no matter what the flower, it will send her heart fluttering. There are many flower shops dotting Marienplatz where you can find the perfect bouquet. There are also a few on Leopoldstraße, most notably one at Münchener Freiheit on the U3/U6 U-Bahns.

Chocolates: Everyone loves chocolates. A great little activity to share would be visiting the Chocolate and More shop at Viktualienmarkt. Known for the best hot chocolate in Munich, it also holds a great stock of chocolates, sweets and pretty things to hold your fancy. Pick and choose between the delicious little sweets, and take a nice evening walk through the lighted city and enjoy your sweets with your sweet!
