The Capital Grille is offering a $49 dinner special
Every time I walk into The Capital Grille, I have to remind myself that we are actually in a recession. That place is always packed. And how do they do it? You go in for dinner and you easily spend $100-$150 a person. I approached them to do an event at the restaurant probably back in September, they told me that I’d have to wait until March. Really? What are they doing that everyone else is not? That place makes me wonder, but when I heard about a $49 dinner special they are going to be offering from February 23rd to April 5th, I had a mixture of feelings – both of excitement and maybe they are being hit like the rest of us.
Their $49 menu was inspired by their partnership with Tuscan winemaker Castello Banfi for the US debut of its 2005 BelnerO Sangiovese di Montalcino. I can’t figure out if the $49 includes wine (it’s inspired by the wine, but $49 at The Capital Grille just seems too inexpensive to include it). But here’s a look at some of the highlights of the menu, and of course, it pairs perfectly with BelnerO ‘Proprietor’s Reserve’ Sangiovese di Montalcino.
- Creamy Porcini Mushroom Soup Garnished with Chive Oil
- Swordfish Roasted inside Parchment Paper with White Wine, Roasted Tomatoes, Oil-Cured Olives and Capers
- Herb-Marinated, Dry-Aged Tenderloin with Garlic, Roasted Tomatoes, Red Peppers and Cipollini Onions
- Black Truffle Mac ‘N’ Cheese
How’s that sound to you?
The menu will be offered at all its 35 locations.
