Hundreds of dancers, performers and musicians bring the cultural beauty, dance, sounds and color of China to Washington, DC. As part of a global tour, Devine Performing Arts 2009 has entertained over 600,000 attendees in over 60 cities.

Enjoy Chinese classical dance, big drums, singers, performers, and stunning costumes that are effectively blend with elegant choreography, all to create graceful performance and dance routines.
Accompanied by a live orchestra, some playing traditional Chinese instruments, the music blends with the elaborate synchronized processions as well as traditional Chinese folk dances. Some of the dances tell the story of ancient folklore, while others simply express the beauty of China.

Dates and Times – Wednesday – Sunday, February 11-15, 2009. Shows (except Sunday) at 7:30 p.m., with a matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 1:30.
Tickets – $35.00 – $108.00 and are available online or by phone at 202-467-4600. The show is suitable for children of all ages, but the producers request no children under 5. A 50% discount on a child’s ticket (ages 5-12) is available with each paid adult ticket – limit two per family.
Nearest Metro Subway Station – Foggy Bottom/George Washington University (23rd and I St.) – Blue and Orange lines, then a 3-block walk.
If you ride Metro, take the free Kennedy Center shuttle that runs every 15 minutes Monday – Friday from 9:45 a.m.- Midnight, Saturdays 10:00 a.m.- Midnight, and from Noon – Midnight on Sundays.
Parking - limited parking is available at the Kennedy Center for $17.00.

I recall that last year, the performance was over Chinese New Year week. But I guess their tour hits so many cities, they can’t be everywhere on New Years.
