Green Light for Pacquiao, Hatton Match
After a series of false starts that almost derailed the big fight, Manny Pacquiao will finally meet Ricky Hatton.
As of last weekend, it was still unsure whether the fight will push through. Pacquiao initially refused to sign unless he gets a 60% cut of the pay-per-view profits. But the Pacman eventually signed, reportedly on a 52-48 deal. And today, Hatton has signed on as well.
The match will be at the super-lightweight (140lbs) level. This will be Pacquiao’s fourth fight in a row, weighing in at a different weight class. His last three fights, which he won, were at 130lbs, 135lbs and 147lbs last year.
Put it in your calendar now. May 2, 20009 in Las Vegas.

It’s a good thing that both sides have already compromised so that fans like me can watch this bout. I’m pretty much excited and can’t wait to see it. This fight can go either way as both Pacquiao and Hatton are strong punchers. I guess it’s just a matter of who scores that one lucky punch.
A lot of people are looking forward to this fight. As early as now, friends are arranging a party to watch it together.
