Explore Your Dreams in Dance

Arlington, Virginia-based Karen Reedy Dance recently relocated to Washington, DC from New York City. Karen, the Artistic Director, knows DC well, as she studied dance at George Mason University and graduated at the age of just 19.  She danced with several DC area troupes before moving to the DancersBig Apple, where she honed her dance and choreography skills dancing with various New York modern dance companies for close to ten years.  she also worked as a rehearsal director at the famous Juilliard School.

Her modern dance troupe will perform a variety of pieces at Dance Place, including Sleepwalking, a piece commissioned for the Kennedy Center’s Arts Local Project.

The highlight piece, Sleepwalking, explores the magical and surreal world of sleeping and dreaming.  Another piece, Path of Attraction, is a duet that explores the often opposing and conflicting ingredients that make up human attraction.
