Dog-Friendly Sydney Beaches For You and Your Best Friend!

As summer takes hold, most of us are enjoying weekends on the beach. But what about our four-legged friends? Here are a few seaside spots you can take the whole family, Rover included!
Sirius Cove (Sirius Cove Road, Mosman)
Sirius Cove allows dogs on the beach and in the water all day through the week, and from 4 pm to 9 am on weekends and public holidays. Waste bins and bags are provided, so remember not to leave any nasty surprises for the next visitors!
Silver Beach (Kurnell)
Dogs are permitted to run and play between the third and fourth groyne from the western end.
Foreshore Beach (Foreshore Road, Botany)
The entire beach is classed as a leash free dog beach, so let Fido off and have some fun!
Rowland Reserve (Pittwater Road, Bayview)
This huge reserve gives dogs open water access. There are waste bins, but you’ll need to bring your own bags to collect your pup’s droppings.

What about the eastern suburbs?
Hi Lisa – the Eastern Suburbs is a little trickier. The only real dog-friendly beach is on Foreshore Road at Botany, but it’s not the most scenic spot. People seem to take their dogs around La Perouse and Little Bay, but they’re not officially sanctioned as dog-friendly so it’s really at your own risk. If you’re up for it I’d suggest visiting early in the morning so you don’t ruffle too many feathers
