Hollywood Heads to Flickerfest

Sydney’s annual short film festival Flickerfest has long attracted Australia’s movie elite. But this year many of Hollywood’s hottest stars are lending their talents to the event.

The Celebrity Shorts program features films starring or being directed by Kate Hudson, Jessica Biel, Kirsten Dunst, Jennifer Aniston, Lauren Bacall, and Natalie Portman. That’s some powerful women! You can see the premiere of Celebrity Shorts on Wednesday January 14 at 9 pm, or catch the repeat session on January 17 at 9 pm.

But that’s not all. The festival also features three competitive programs – international, Australian shorts, and short documentaries – and Love Bites, a sexy and playful look at relationships around the world.

Flickerfest has received a record breaking 1350 entries from around the world this year, so the stuff you’ll see in 2009 may be the best yet! All sessions are rated 15+ so leave the kids at home for this night out.

Dates: January 9 to 18
Times: Sessions at 4:30 pm, 6:45 pm and 9 pm
Location: Bondi Pavilion. All 9 pm sessions are held in the outdoor ampitheatre (unless it rains), while the other sessions are held in the indoor ampitheatre.

Parking: Paid parking is available in the beach car park, and there are parking meters around the pavilion
Cost: Single tickets cost $15 for adults and $13 for concession holders. Three sessions passes cost $38 for adults and $32 for concession holders, while season passes coast $130 for adults and $115 for concession holders. The opening night screening and party is $50 for adults and $45 for concessions, while the closing night awards and party costs $35 for adults and $30 for concession holders.
