Holiday Family Fun
If you and the family are in County for some holiday cheer, there are so many things to do around town.
With so much to choose from, here are some highlights that I believe have that extra special holiday zing. So go ahead and grab that candy cane, taking a leap into some holiday family fun!
December 4 to 14 – Into The Woods: The Center for Jewish Culture has a talented youth cast in where all your favorite Grimm’s fairy tales come to life! Embark on a theatre production filled with fun ()
Saturday, December 13 – Christmas In The Park: Located in Old Poway Park, this event will take you back into yesteryear in a turn-of-the-century fashion. This is a special spot for kids, where they can make ornaments, see a model railroad, take their pictures with good ole’ Santa, hear carolers, and grab a seat for a steam engine train ride. For parents, there is also a nice holiday craft boutique ().
Sunday, December 14 – Bethlehem Village: Located in Poway, an impressive reproduction of a 1st Century Bethlehem will happen here. Everything from a Roman census, Roman guards, nativity show, llama rides, children craft center and puppet show will encompass this special day ().
Sunday, December 14 – Santa at the Lakes: At Santee Lakes, your kids will get some holiday Santa cheer at this festive site. Be it seeing Santa, playing in the style snow, sledding, biting into S’mores, going on a hay ride or cheering on a carnival ride this will be a day of holiday memorable fun!
Wednesday, December 31 – First Night Escondido: Ring in the New Year with this family friendly celebration at Grape Day Park. This event will feature live entertainment, crafts, great food and an impressive fireworks display which will light up the sky. This is also a non-alcoholic celebration ().
