Quebec’s Finest Hand-Crafted Creations

With over 240,000 visitors passing through, the Salon des métiers d’art du Québec is the largest professional crafts show in North America. If you’re looking for an original gift or a special souvenir to remind you of your trip to Quebec, this show is not to be missed.

Textiles, sculpture, ceramics, and jewelry are a small sample of the skillfully crafted items that will be available to the public. Although every table merits a visit, one that should not be overlooked is that of jeweler Anne-Marie Chagnon. Her pieces can be spotted from far away and are so distinctive, she was asked to create an exclusive collection for the Cirque du Soleil. Her bold yet sophisticated designs come to life through materials such as pewter, glass and horn. She is one of the 450 artisans who will be exhibiting their work.

While discovering these one-of-a-kind items, you can also witness artisans teaching spectators about their craft through demonstrations. There will also be a series of entertaining activities, such as music and dance performances, fashion shows and even a full day of activities dedicated to kids.

The Salon des métiers d’art du Québec will take place from December 5th to the 21st at Place Bonaventure, which is easily accessible by metro. For more information, visit http://www.metiers-d-art.qc.ca/smaq.
